Whiskyreview #62 Longmorn 1997 (Berry Bros. & Rudd) 55.4%

This is a single cask(#163310) bottling from theimage London based Berry Bros. & Rudd, for the “Berry’s own selection” -series. It was distilled in ‘97 and bottled in 2012 at 14 years old.

Nose: Apple juice, very balanaced sweetness, crisp and green apples as well as green grass. Water brings out some honey but it reminds me more of water down honey than the pure stuff. Getting hints of sweet tea. All over, a very green nose.

Palate: Sweet with a sublte spicyness, warm fruits, pure and clean tastes.. almost grainy.. especially with water added. Creamy and smooth with water.

Lovely! A refreshing summer whisky, that is best savoured with a drop of water. It’s just very pure, simple and clean.. not super complex, but very satisfying and rewarding if you give it 20 minutes to open up in the glass.

91/100 points
