Whisky Review #103 Balblair 2002 First Release 46%

balA 2002 vintage now, from the highlands.

On the nose: Sweet, toasted bread, floral, fruity and citric. Water brings out more grass, as well as grapefruits. Decent and refreshing stuff.

On the palate: Still sweet, still grassy. Very light and clean. Fruity.. Water improves the experience and takes away a bit of the young-ish feel to it and makes it smoother and more palatable. Getting hints of marzipan and freshly cut wet grass in the finish.

Easy and decent whisky. No big surprises, just very clean and easygoing.

82/100 points
